January Update

Thank you for all your prayers over the last month! God has been moving in our ministry and it has been awesome to be a part of it!
On the 16th through the 18th I was blessed to be the speaker at a local camp’s Sr. High Winter Camp. There were about 40 teens that attended the weekend event. I shared my testimony and gave a salvation invitation on Friday night and six teens accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. I spoke twice on Saturday and once again on Sunday morning. On Sunday, I spoke on Psalm 63 and asked the question, “Do we earnestly seek God, or just go through the motions?”. There was a great response and another teen accepted Christ that morning as well. I got to know several of the teens and adults pretty well and we are still in contact with each other!
Last weekend we had our annual Winter Teen Convention in Rhinelander. 27 teens and six adults attended this year’s event. We had a great time swimming, tubing, goofing off, worshiping, and learning more about God. Our theme for this year was Bible Study and Prayer. We gave the teens very practical tools and insight on Bible Study, allowed them to actually see and use those tools, and also develop their prayer life as well. This year it was even more special for me because 14 of the teens came from my youth group that I’ve been running on Wednesday nights. I was able to really deepen my relationship with those teens.
Speaking of Youth Group, God has really been moving there as well. We have seen four teens accept Christ in the past two weeks! We have been averaging around 40 teens a night and there is a lot of excitement each and every night! A real neat tie in to the Teen Convention was in the area of prayer. One of the teens was praying for her sister to accept Christ. Just a few days later, her sister did just that! What a neat example for her to see how God answers prayers when we pray in line with His will!
The youth group at Northland Bible Church is up and running. This is the church that HCY is helping to start a youth ministry at on Tuesday nights. We are seeing growth numerically, but also a real hunger for God’s Word. I’m excited to be working with these teens and helping out the adults as well.

I can’t tell you how awesome this month has been for me personally - to see all the changes in the youth. We desperately need your prayer support going into February.
